VUUR Restaurant - Goose Island
An extension of the original one-table VUUR concept, Goose Island offers a larger, equally immersive dining experience without losing its elemental spirit.
Set on a secluded island within the estate’s dam, the venue is surrounded by willow trees, still waters, and sweeping views of the Hottentots-Holland Mountains. Accessed via twin bridges, the design treads lightly and lets nature lead.
A timber deck wraps around the trees, while expansive openings flood the space with air and light. At its centre is a single 16-seat communal table beside the fire, framing the water and mountains beyond.
VUUR Goose Island is a space for connection, storytelling, and the simple, powerful experience of fire and food in nature.

Bojses Farm – Cape Dutch-Inspired Agri Facility
Rooted in tradition and designed for modern agricultural needs, this project pays homage to Cape Dutch architecture while integrating contemporary function throughout.
The office and kanteen space anchors the site with its classic gables and symmetrical layout, serving as both a functional hub and a refined architectural statement.
A Protea flower pack shed, positioned within a traditional “Werf” layout, ensures delicate blooms are processed with precision using state-of-the-art facilities.
Three vehicle storage units, housing machinery, tools, and support functions, are arranged for optimal access, shelter, and workflow efficiency, echoing the historical rhythm of the site.
This project reflects our philosophy: honour heritage, embrace innovation, and design spaces that quietly perform and inspire.

Mohein Farms 1
A thoughtful upgrade to an existing grape packing facility, balancing architectural refinement with operational need.
The project included a refreshed office façade, where gabion walls were introduced to separate staff and visitor access while creating a defined outdoor eating area for workers. Glazed openings, new doors, and a timber pergola bring texture, light, and warmth to the building's exterior, while redesigned gable ends offer a more welcoming identity.
Two new additions expand the packing facility itself, designed to handle increased vineyard output with ease, efficiency, and improved flow.

VUUR Restaurant
Once a working horse stable, now an immersive dining experience built around the primal beauty of open fire. Nestled within a game camp on the Remhoogte Wine Estate, this transformation celebrates rustic heritage while embracing understated hospitality.
The original structure was reimagined to evoke warmth, intimacy, and connection, with a focus on indoor-outdoor flow. A spacious terrace under an existing oak tree invites guests to linger, while thick stable walls offer shelter from the South-Easterly wind.
Balancing raw charm with refined purpose, this project is a testament to how architecture can honour the past while elevating the present.

Mohein Farms 2
A considered reworking of the office interface at an existing packhouse, this upgrade enhances both flow and functionality.
Gabion walls were introduced to clearly define staff and visitor entrances while creating a sheltered outdoor space for workers. These natural stone elements offer a textured contrast to the clean new façade, which now features glazed doors, generous windows, and a timber pergola that softens the exterior and introduces rhythm.
To accommodate seasonal production demands, two new wings were seamlessly added to the packing facility, increasing capacity without disrupting operational efficiency.

Mooigezicht Estate - Eilandia
A large-scale upgrade that transformed an aging grape packhouse into a modern, high-capacity facility.
Five steel-framed extensions were added to increase packing stations, expand the palletising area, and enlarge the pre-cooling zone. These additions improved workflow and boosted output during peak harvest periods. The existing roof was raised to accommodate a mezzanine level for carton storage, maximising vertical space and efficiency.
Additional upgrades included new administrative offices and fully equipped ablution and locker facilities, bringing the facility in line with contemporary standards of comfort, hygiene, and performance.
A robust, future-focused intervention built for growth.

Grape Alliance - De Doorns
A full-scale redesign of an outdated facility that no longer supported modern production demands.
Tasked with improving inefficiencies, we reimagined the internal layout to enhance flow, boost functionality, and meet current compliance standards. Every spatial element was reconsidered, from circulation to zoning, to streamline operations and future-proof the facility.
The result is a completely optimised structure, renewed for purpose and performance.
